17.1. The Management Committee with the authority of the Men’s or Ladies Committee concerned shall have the power to initiate disciplinary procedures, to be exercised only in accordance with the provisions of Clauses 17.2 to 17.5.

17.2. Any Member acting contrary to the Rules and Regulations of the Club, or any Member conducting himself or herself, whether inside or outside the Club premises so as in the opinion of the Management Committee to injure or discredit the character of the Club, may be admonished, suspended, or deprived of Membership by the Management Committee. A two-thirds majority of the Management Committee present and entitled to vote shall be required to pass a resolution depriving a member of membership or suspending a member for a period in excess of three months. A resolution to pass any other disciplinary sanction on a member may be passed by a simple majority of the Management Committee present and entitled to vote.

17.3. A Member desirous of making a complaint in reference to any of the foregoing matters (Clause 17.2) shall send the terms of same to the Honorary Secretary in writing with a request that same may be investigated by the Management Committee.

17.4. The Honorary Secretary shall, within seven days of receipt of such a written complaint, summon a meeting of the Management Committee to investigate same, and shall send to the Member against whom the complaint has been lodged at least three days before the holding of such a meeting, a notice in writing, setting forth the nature of the complaint, and the place, date and time for which the meeting has been called and shall further indicate in such notice that the Member is entitled to attend before the Committee in person or, to submit in time for such meeting, a written answer to such complaint.

17.5. The Management Committee shall have absolute discretion as to the conduct of the investigation and its scope, and as to the manner in which their decision shall be communicated to the parties to the complaint or to the members generally.

17.6. A Member who is dissatisfied with the decision to deprive him or her of membership, or to suspend him or her for a period in excess of three months, may appeal by notice in writing to the Honorary Secretary the decision of the Management Committee to the Trustees of the Club within 14 days of the receipt by member of notification of the decision against which he wishes to appeal. The Honorary Secretary shall within seven days of the receipt of the Notice of Appeal summon a meeting of the Trustees to hear same and shall send to the member appealing at least three days before the holding of such a meeting a notice in writing setting forth the place, date and time of the meeting. A majority of Trustees shall be required to determine the outcome of an appeal and their decision shall be final. Save in accordance with this paragraph, a decision by the Management Committee to impose a disciplinary sanction shall be final and no appeal shall be allowed in respect of same.
